As conversations around sustainability move into the mainstream as part of business strategy and planning, Australia’s sustainability pathway includes the use of sustainable energy sources and a move away from reliance on fossil fuels, as well as supporting more ethical and values-based social initiatives. Institutional investors are lifting engagement with boards, and new channels which provide a mechanism for change, such as the “Say on Climate” initiative, are emerging. NAB’s CATHRYN CARVER says that having a clear roadmap for the way forward is imperative, and a priority for everyone.
